Ben Vickers
Ben Vickers is an artist living and working in London. His work often builds around juxtaposition and layering of images, using any medium. His work has become increasingly unbounded by the limits of standalone artworks, either in terms of materials or time. This fluidity has led him to work on year-long projects that include photography, sound and archive materials, as in the Saccades project, now in its second year-long phase.
Art is a conversation of sorts. Work that originates meaning or effect does so in complex ways that include the layering of references by the artist and projection by the viewer. Words that define and therefore delimit artworks often hinder the experience rather than help. Thank you for dipping into this conversation.
